Community
The San Diego Chargers have been a proud partner with the San Diego community for more than 40 years. The Team and its players annually contribute time and resources to make San Diego County one of the best places in the country to live and work. Longstanding community events like the Chargers Annual Blood Drive, helping to ensure an adequate blood supply during the holidays for over 25 years, combined with newer projects like the Chargers Taste of the NFL benefiting the San Diego Food Bank, have helped raise thousands of dollars and badly needed resources for the citizens of San Diego. Through its charitable arm, The Chargers Community Foundation, the team has also provided more than $4 million dollars in grants, scholarships and monetary resources to non-profit organizations throughout San Diego County.

The Home Depot NFL Neighborhood MVP is a new program designed to recognize NFL players who are making a positive impact in their local communities through charitable programs and contributions. The program will reward a total of 17 players with a field refurbishment or playground build in their honor and a donation to the charity of their choice. Starting at Thanksgiving, fans are invited to vote on the player they feel is making the greatest impact in their community. This vote and input from a Blue Ribbon Panel of judges will help determine which player will be selected as the Home Depot-NFL Neighborhood MVP of the Year.

Charger ChampionsThe Chargers will award more than $400,000 in scholarships, grants and computers to deserving SD County students. |

Junior Training CampIn addition to the 11 STAR/PAL camps, the Chargers are also scheduling youth football camps in schools and rec centers. |
